Description

The HMD launched the Nokia 3, Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 in India but the Nokia 3 was the first one to hit the markets. For now the device is locally available at the retail shops.

Nokia 3 comes in an attractive medium box. It has a new kind connected hands image not like the old Nokia way of connecting hands. The side of the box features Nokia Branding and Android Logo which shows Nokia 3 got Android. On the back side of the box is an image of a white Nokia 3 model and some main features of the device.

The phone runs Android 7.0 Nougat though many expected it to come with Android 7.1.1.

It has a premium quality aluminium pre-seasoned machine screams of the frames and a 5-inch HD 720p display.

Both the front and rear cameras got auto focus, with the front having 8 megapixels similar to the 8 megapixel back camera.

It has a quad-core processor from Mediatek, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB storage. The storage can actually be expanded with micro SD card. Out from the box is the Nokia 3 with a SIM card ejector and the user guide menu.

The smaller box contains the charger, standard headphones and the USB connector cable. Having a non removable battery, it is not possible to remove the back cover of the phone.

The Nokia 3 feels very solid. When having it on hand, the first feeling is that it is a robust device. Its back feels quite comfortable though not very smooth with a matte finish. The matte finish is meant for having a good grip and it is not easy to drop the device. Generally Nokia 3 has a healthy kind of feeling and sticks to the hand very well. It has a frame that is metal and exploits precision machined aluminium. This is the same kind of aluminium found on Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. The metal frame is very very strong with drop test showing that it’s built like a tank.

The back is a package of poly-carbonate. The main advantage of the poly-carbonate is that it is scratch resistant. It also happens to be very strong, all in all the Nokia 3 is a robust device.

The front top of the Nokia 3 is the front camera and below the screen are the capacitive touch buttons. On the left it got two slots, one for the micro SD card and the other is meant for two SIM cards, hence the Nokia 3 is a dual SIM card smartphone.

Right hand side has the volume rocker and power on and off press. Both the power button and the volume rocker buttons look awesome. The back is very grippy and nice the phone is very secure when you hold it in your hand. The USB slot is at the bottom and a 3.5 headphone jack port at the top.

Booting the device one gets the Nokia brand name and its sound. First time booting may take a while due to the setup activities which one can opt to skip to set up later. Its display looks nice in typical Android 7.0 with a wallpaper that comes in Nokias 3, 5 and 6.
