With the success of the Lenovo Yoga series, HP decided to launch its own lineup of 2 and 1 laptops like the HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium. This laptop offers multiple modes just like the Lenovo Yoga series. The laptop features an Intel Pentium running at 2.17 gigahertz. This processor is based off the bay trial M platform 4 gigabytes of RAM. For the display it got 11.6 inch LED backlit high-definition touchscreen with a resolution of 1366 by 768.
This laptop came running Microsoft Windows 8.1. About design and build quality, this laptop features a stunning design of smoke silver with an aluminum brush like finish. This laptop is pretty lightweight the weight comes in at 3.1 pounds which is very similar to the Lenovo Yoga 211. The thickness of the HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium is about 0.9 inches.
The brush line aluminum finish that HP put on the interior this laptop just looks stunning. With that interior overall, HP did an excellent job in terms of design and build quality especially at this price point. HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium boots up within 20 seconds which is about average. The laptop features an 11.6 inch LED backlit high-definition touchscreen display with the resolution of 1366 by 768. For the most part the colors on this panel, they are good. However some images look washed out compared to other panels. Brightness levels on this LED backlit display is pretty good.
Overall performance of the touchscreen on this panel is very good considering its price point. For the ports, the left side of the laptop is a Kensington security slot, power button, exhaust port for your fans, USB 2.0, headset port and your volume button. On the right side it a hard disk indicator, an SD card reader, USB 2.0 port, USB 3.0 port, HDMI output, Ethernet port and an AC power port.
They call this laptop the HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium because it has multiple modes. The first mode it has is the laptop mode then the stand mode where you can kick back and relax and watch a movie more comfortable. Next mode is the tent mode where you can sit back and relax on a small table and start browsing the web and working on your documents. The final mode is the tablet mode where one flips it down and it is ergonomically. It is not as comfortable in tablet mode compared to the Lenovo Yoga series.
HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium features an Intel Pentium running at 2.17 gigahertz with a turbo boost up to 2.4 to gigahertz. The N3520 is meant for light duty productivity like work processing, watching YouTube videos, browsing the web and playing light duty games. If you need something with more power it is recommended checking the Lenovo Yoga 11s which features a 4th generation Intel Core i5 4210Y.
The keyboard for this laptop features a 97 percent size island style keyboard. Typing on this keyboard is always pretty good considering its small footprint in size. The key travel offers decent amount of key travel. The trackpad on this laptop is phenomenal whether browsing the web or navigating the Windows menu, this trackpad is always an enjoyable experience. Thank You HP for using synaptics as the manufacturer of the trackpad. Synaptics makes one of the best track pads out there.
Battery life is good on average with three and a half to four and a half hours out of a full charge with screen brightness at around 80%. The intel pentium N3520 runs pretty cool during normal usage and with HP Colson’s enabled this laptop run very efficient. At heavy usage, one can hear the fun but it is always quiet on moderate usage. HP Pavilion 11 X360 Pentium features the Beats Audio speakers which sound pretty impressive for their size. There are two speakers facing the bottom front and once you get the equalizer adjustment you’ll enjoy the sound quality from these speakers.
This laptop features a 128 gigabyte 5400 rpm hard drive which has 107.9 megabytes a second for the read speed. For the write speed, it scores 110.7 megabytes a second. These kind of speeds are expected on average performance from the traditional 5400 rpm hard drive.
