The HTC Desire 10 Pro together with The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle were the two smartphones announced and released late last year. The HTC Desire 10 Pro was released in December 2016.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro has a hybrid dual SIM feature which means that you can either have two SIM cards or a sim card and a micro SD card. This is because the second sim card slot also doubles up as a micro SD card slot meaning you either have the simcard or the SDcard in it. The SIMs have access to 2G, 3G and 4G/LTE networks.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro has a 5 inch display whose resolution is 1920 by 1080 pixels that has 400 pixels per inch. The display is very vivid but cannot compare to the AMOLED displays. The display has a gorilla glass to protect from the falls.
The HTC desire 10 Pro has a plastic body with golden metallic accents along the edges. This accents add to the premium feel of the phone. The phone is light and slim that make it easier to hold considering it’s size. Below the display are capacitive touch buttons that are backlit.
The phone is available in four colours :- Stone Black, Royal Blue (dark blue), Valentine Lux (light blue) and Polar White. The colours that are mostly available in Kenya are the Polar White and Stone Black.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro runs the HTC Sense which is the HTC’s skin on the Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system. HTC sense has very little bloatware. HTC sense’s software only includes some HTC apps such as the Weather, Flashlight and Boost+. Boost+ will let you clear junk, manage permissions and lock apps with the fingerprint scanner.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro has got a Octa-core 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 Mediatek chipset backed up by 4GB RAM. The phone carries out normal tasks very efficiently with hassle. However when faced with heavy games such as Asphalt you can expect dropped frames which don’t make the games unplayable but does affect overall satisfaction.
The HTC Desire 10 Pro’s inbuilt storage is 64GB and is expendable by up to 256GB.
The handset’s rear camera is a 20MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture, laser autofocus, HDR, dual LED Flash. The camera has a Pro mode that lets you manually adjust the ISO, white balance, focus, exposure value and shutter speed. The Front camera is 13MP with f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras take very decent photos.
The battery is rated 3000mAh and supports fast charging letting it get to 35% after 30 minutes, about 75 % after an hour and full charge in an hour and a half. The phone can last a day on a full charge.
