You’ve been waiting for it and the Apple iPhone 8 finally available in Kenya with the 64GB going for just 89,999/- if you get it from us.
The iPhone 8 is out. Though there was excitement in anticipating its release, attention has quickly shifted to the iPhone X which will come out later this year. The Kenyan iPhone lovers have however lined up to upgrade their handsets to the iPhone 8.
The iPhone 8 comes in gold, space gray and silver colours. The iPhone’s 8 body is made up of Aluminum on the sides while the back and front are entirely made up of glass. Apart from this most of the design is similar to the iPhone 7’s. The power button is placed on the right side. The volume buttons and the mute switch are placed on the right. The earphone jack is still missing therefore the lightning port at the bottom also supports the audio function. The dual speaker has one at the top and one at the bottom. The rear camera and flash are on the top left with the camera coming out as a bump on the back surface. The usual Apple logo is in the upper part of the back at the center.
The iPhone 8’s display is bright and visible in different light conditions. The 4.7 inch Retina display has a resolution of 750 by 1334 pixels. The pixels per inch rating is 326. The phone has an added True tone display which has four sensors around the screeen to measure light around the phone and change the display’s contrast to match. Big bezels are still present around the screen
The iPhone 8 has an Hecacore A11 Bionic processor with two low efficiency cores and four high efficiency cores. The processor is very speedy and will have your applications running smoothly. The speed is enhanced by 2GB RAM. The RAM is lower than Android counterparts in the same price range. But memory management is different therefore we can’t directly compare them based on the size of RAM.
The phone comes in two models : 64GB and 256GB. The 64GB version is quite popular as it is cheaper and 64GB is huge for most people.
Out of the box the iPhone 8 runs iOS 11. Pull down to get the lock screen with your notifications. Swipe left to access camera. Swipe right to access widgets. An all new control center awaits you when you pull up from the bottom of the screen. It also has new notes app, file manager and do not disturb mode. The App Store is also redesigned.
The 12MP camera is very similar to that of the predecessor. The camera has an aperture of f/1.8, optical image stabilization, 5X digital zoom and live photos support. The 7MP camera can be brightened up by the Screen Flash.
The 1821mAh battery is smaller than that of the previous iPhone. The only plus is the iPhone 8 supports fast charging. 50% in 30 minutes of charging has been made possible. The iPhone 8 also supports wireless charging thanks to the glass back.
